February is just one of those months. At one point it was starting to warm up then it was -40 with the wind chill, then it's "normal" february weather. Make up your mind already
I'm ready for warm temps and no hat, mitts and boots season already. Come on summer!

The Big C
Well it has finally hit my family, isn't that nice? I've never known anyone to actually have cancer. You always hear of someone or other but it's always "over there" type of thing.
It's scary... just to let you know it's not me or my kids or my husband... but it's someone close to me. Of course I'm not allowed to say anything "they are going to treat me different" "well yes they are going to treat you like you have cancer, COME ON!" Sometimes you just want to smack them lol. But yeah I know they are going to kick it, it's just in their nature, it's treatable, it's a common type. While doing research on this type of cancer I came across a site where you can rent a 40 foot wide by 8 feet high colon. That's a nice welcome home present, don't you think?
I've seen some documentary where these ladies laughed at cancer. I can't remember how it turned out but I think it was a positive. So hopefully my person can do the same.
We're going to kick Cancer's ass!!!!

Winter 2010
Well it's that time of year again. Although I must say winter this year hasn't been bad. We haven't had terrible snowstorms or freezing cold weather for weeks on end.
Christmas was a success. With it just being the 6 of us 8 if you include the dogs. No drama, no shouting, no fights it was so nice. Santa brought the kids each their own sledds and Dustin actually came out with us. I got some really good pictures. It was a full busy 2 weeks off, but I know the kids are happy to be back in school. There weren't too many days when the kids changed out of their jammies lol.
It's a new year, looking forward to seeing what this year brings.

Pet Peeves
So you know I have many pet peeves, give me any example and I can come up with something that makes me really angry about it. Does that make me an angry person? For example I hate when you're trying to shop and people are standing in the MIDDLE of the aisle, and you can't get around them. I hate that people let their dogs pee in my yard. I hate that my kids see something ie clothes on the floor, garbage on the floor and they just walk over it. See I have many pet peeves lol.
Anyways on to today's topic.
I really hate houses side by side that look exactly the same. All these new houses going up in Winnipeg and you just have to go down a street to see the new designs. Yes there can only be so many show homes but come on! There is NO WAY I'd have my house the exact same as my neighbours even if it was only the mirror image. I want my forever house to be as unique as I am. Am I wrong in thinking this? If my neighbours did build their house the same as mine I think I would paint mine like bright pink or something. What do you guys think?
I mentioned this to Dustin today and he says wow your parents must have really hated their house. I was like no they didn't; or at least as far as I know they didn't. Maybe it's because I grew up with identical houses around me that I feel this way? For those of you who don't know I grew up on many different Canadian Military Bases, so the houses basically came in 4 different styles.
That's something to think about.

Pumpkins
Now let's be honest, I carved all the pumpkins but I let the kids pick what they wanted on it. Even Dustin didn't carve his. I do a dragon pumpkin every year and he just happened to get this one claimed as his. His work was doing their United Way Campaign so I carved the pumpkin for their pumpkin carving contest. I was really disappointed that there were only 3 pumpkins total. But non- the- less I won! Yeah me! lol. I love carving pumpkins, there are only a few things I'm good at and this is one of them. Enjoy the pictures.

undead Ted-Nathan'sHalloween 2010-The Cat In The Hat
This year's costumes were from the Cat in the Hat book. It didn't take very long to organize but once I had a plan of what I wanted it went smooth. I had originally wanted Nathan to be the fish but I couldn't figure out how to make a fish bowl. Once I talked it over with a few people I was like "duh! that would have totally worked!" But non the less he liked his costume and the kids look so cute! They actually lasted for a bit but their bags were getting heavy. We really only do around the block but when the kids are young people tend to give them more candy. Faith wanted to go with her friends this year and I was like no, I don't think so.

So what do you think of their costumes?
