Aero

My Aero has achieved his championship! He competed in the Brandon dog show a couple of weekends ago and got enough points to finish! He's awesome. I'm so proud of my boy. Now we will just compete in the speciality Lab shows. These shows are for breeders to show off their dogs and get people interested in them for breeding. I'm hoping to handle Aero in the specialty show. I'm going to need to practice and go to sanction matches which are mock shows where people go to learn what to do in the shows. I read a saying that said the easier it looks in the ring is because the handler is working extra hard. He will now be known in the ring as Ch. Azureblue Aero Bar None.
Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is about more then just loving your spouse. It should be about showing love to the whole family. I decided to take pictures of my kids with the things they love the most.

Funny Sleeper

My youngest son is sleeping on a mattress on the floor. Not through any of his own doing, Dustin built them bunk beds; or bunk-a-bee beds as Nathan calls them; and hasn't finished them. We need a ladder and guard rails along the top. So Nathan has taken to sleeping in funny stops around the room. I being the loving mother that I am has decided to take pictures when ever he does so. Here is Nathan crammed into two very tight spots.

Children's Quotes of the Day

Payton "mommy I love red apples cause they taste like candy"

Clayton "I don't like spaghetti but I'm pretending it's something I do like, like mini wheat's!"

Nathan sniffing the air "I smell... chicken!"

Weekend fun

This weekend we had a visitor.... a friend was going out of town for the weekend and asked us to watch their dog. Sure no problem. Aero is what you'd call a "friendly bully" he doesn't realize that what he's doing the other dogs don't like it. There were a few reminders but all in all I think the weekend went well. Aero likes having other dogs to play with. The other dog actually wanted to play and would start playing with Aero. They were tired but the end of the weekend.

They actually drank out of the same bowl, chewed the same bone or rope toy at the same time. Mind you if Aero wanted it there was nothing the other dog could do to stop him. Nathan thought he was in charge of the dogs, if they were playing and he didn't want them to he was right in there trying to stop them. He got a few bumps and bruises this weekend. When Nathan sits on the floor he is at the same height as Aero's butt. When the dogs were playing they didn't care who was near them, I had to remind Nathan that if he didn't want a face full of butt he'd better move LOL. Aero is male the other dog is male but neutered I think Aero will do fine when we bring the other puppy home. Which should be in time for my birthday in MAY!

This morning was fun! There was a power surge about 7:30 and then the water slowly ran out. It was off for maybe 20 minutes. But in that time you're thinking OH CRAP! We as a city have a new water treatment plante and I think the power surge affected it.

Oh the joys of having no water lol

Wilson Family Christmas Letter 2009

Well here it is the end of another year. Why does it always seem as if the days fly by faster and faster???
This year has been very exciting in late February we brought home another family member… a dog! That’s right a beautiful chocolate labrador. Dustin has wanted one for the longest time. His name is Aero; he is the best dog ever. The kids just love him, although they do wish he was a bit smaller so they could walk him. Along with Aero we have been brought into the interesting world of dog shows. Aero is a show dog and has already won a few ribbons. Its one weekend every few months, although there is a lot of work that goes on before hand. Chocolate labs are known for being hyper and are easily excitable; it takes a lot of work to get him to stand still for short periods of time.
The twins Payton and Clayton turned 5 this year. Which means school full time. They go to school everyday all day long. We have put them in separate classes and will continue to do so. Payton is very shy and it took her awhile to warm up to her teachers and classmates. Clayton on the other hand has embraced the school experience, although he does wish there was more play time.
This summer Faith turned 8 and is in grade 3 this year. She is such a mother. When getting on the school bus she makes sure Payton and Clayton get on before her, she checks to make sure they are on the bus at the end of the day. Although she is taking after her mother in the attitude department more and more.
Nathan is now 3 and home all alone with mom. We’ve been keeping busy with swimming lessons, playgroup, play dates and lazy pj days at home. He’s taking a liking to Thomas the tank engine and the Land Before Time movies. He’s the typical little boy and gets into everything!
In July we FINALLY went on a family vacation. With my family spread out all over Canada it has been along time since we’ve been together. We drove 12 ½ hours straight to Alberta. We spent 5 wonderful and busy days there. There were 8 kids ranging in age from 2 to 11, and 6 adults it was a very full house. The only person missing was my dad and I’m sure we’ll visit him in the future.
Along with visiting family Dustin and I got a weekend away together. We haven’t had any time away from the kids together ever. So it was nice to go too the states and shop and watch movies and even pee without someone asking “what are you doing?” Thank you to Dustin’s dad and Marilyn for watching the kids. I hear there were some laughs, some crying and some broken furniture.
From our family to yours Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas 2009
