Pumpkins

Now let's be honest, I carved all the pumpkins but I let the kids pick what they wanted on it. Even Dustin didn't carve his. I do a dragon pumpkin every year and he just happened to get this one claimed as his. His work was doing their United Way Campaign so I carved the pumpkin for their pumpkin carving contest. I was really disappointed that there were only 3 pumpkins total. But non- the- less I won! Yeah me! lol. I love carving pumpkins, there are only a few things I'm good at and this is one of them. Enjoy the pictures.

Halloween 2010-The Cat In The Hat

This year's costumes were from the Cat in the Hat book. It didn't take very long to organize but once I had a plan of what I wanted it went smooth. I had originally wanted Nathan to be the fish but I couldn't figure out how to make a fish bowl. Once I talked it over with a few people I was like "duh! that would have totally worked!" But non the less he liked his costume and the kids look so cute! They actually lasted for a bit but their bags were getting heavy. We really only do around the block but when the kids are young people tend to give them more candy. Faith wanted to go with her friends this year and I was like no, I don't think so.
So what do you think of their costumes?

Next year I'm going to try for Alice in Wonderland.

Amazed

So do you know what amazes me? Children... I was thinking the other day that my oldest child will be able to drive in 7 years. I know you're thinking it's 7 years... but do you realize how much mental growth will have to happen? Not to say her in particular but any child. But then I got to thinking look at how much mental growth happened since she was 2; that was 7 years ago. Isn't that amazing?

No other time in a person life does this much mental growth/maturity happen. At 16 she'll have the maturity to drive a huge metal object without (hopefully) hitting anyone. Growing up you never think of things like this. But as a parent whoa just think of all the stuff I put my parents through.... which we won't discuss here lol.

Why do children have to grow up?

What Makes Me Happy

So do you want to know what made me happy this week?

Nathan colored a picture INSIDE THE LINES! I know your all thinking "so what" He's 3 almost 4. What almost 4 year old colors almost perfectly inside the lines and chooses a different color for each pedal of the flower? I almost cried.... I thought when the heck did he get to be so old?

Then when his big sisters saw the picture they told him what a good job he did. They said things like "way to go Nathan" "that picture looks so pretty". How nice was that?

I know it's just alittle thing to you.... but to me.... it made me happy...in a bittersweet my baby is growing up kinda way.

Randomness

So awhile ago we were eating super and as usual everyone finished eating except the younger three. We all leave the table and next thing I know Payton and Clayton are done eating.

me: how did you finish so fast?

Payton: well I threw it in the garbage

me: why did you do that?

Payton: Clayton did so I did too

me: well no snack for you tonight then

Payton walks up to Clayton and says: why did you throw your supper out? it gave me ideas and I followed you, now I get no snack!

Dustin and I laughed so hard....

SEPTEMBER

September is going to be super busy. With the kids getting in their back to school mode. Nathan is going to be at preschool 3 days a week (tear).

My local Families of Multiples is having their used toy and clothing sale coming up. Of which I'm apart of. So not only do I get to sell I punch of stuff I have to volunteer some hours. Then my Y-Neighbour's group is having their used toy and clothing sale. I don't get to sell at this sale but I do have to volunteer and bake lots of goodies to sell. I love selling the cookies! I can talk lots of people into buying them lol.

This year I'm the leader for my Y-Neighbour's group. I really hope this year goes smoothly and that I do a good job. I'm alittle nervous and alittle excited.
