Skating

Today my kids went skating with school. I do love my school for somethings. They celebrate festival du voyageur, all week not just one day like most schools. I acutally got to help out today. Nathan is super cute, "mom this is my 13th time going around". He wants to skate so bad, he still uses the skating bar, but really this is only his 3rd time on skates. Then I stayed to help Clayton and Payton's class. Clayton is doing so well. He still likes the bar, but he did try a few times without it. Mick E Moose was there to skate with them. The kids were so excitied. For those of you who don't know who he is, he was the mascot for the Manitoba Moose, but now that the jets are back he is their mascot. Clayton kept chasing him around and calling him Mickey Mouse. He's so funny.

Wordless Wednesday

Valentine's Day

I' m not much for valentine's day. Really I think it's for non-married couples. If you're married and have kids it's hard to get away on one specific night. Plus even getting a seat somewheres is a nightmare. I just want my husband to bring me home something that shows he thought of me today. I'm horrible at keeping flowers alive, but I love plants.
With that being said my husband surprised me today. I came home from work and on my table was two flower arrangements, plus an empty pie plate. But to be fair he just ran out of time to put the pie plate away after he ate his share from the night before. He came home at lunch to drop off the flowers.
I opened up my presents and there was two very lovely displays.



This flower arrangement was from my girls this morning. They had stayed up late sometime last week (in secret) to make these. The kids had cereal out and ready for me along with this fabulous flower display.
Today I made my family some chocolate pudding with strawberrys sliced inside. I really hope they like it. It actually took me most of the afternoon to do it.

Funny Things Kids Say

The other day we were having supper talking about stuff. Payton has a hard time with certain sounds. She was trying to say "teeth", but it came out "teat".
I said I do not have teats that's what you call animal boobs.
She laughed so hard.
Faith looks at me funny and says "mom!"
I'm like "what it's true".
We all joked and had a laugh about it.
I said "most animals have breasts, like chicken breast, for an example".
Nathan says "mom, I didn't know breasts have chickens".
Well that threw us all into a fit of laughter.

Some Words

So the Free Press along with the Winnipeg Jets have made medallions that have each of the Winnipeg Jets Hockey teams faces on them. I thought oh that would be great to have and Clayton will love it. Yeah I didn't realize that it would end up costing me $80.00. Really! that's alot of money, but if we keep them in good condition and don't lose any, they might be worth money at some point in the future. Let's just say that the Jets are making money like crazy in a town who hasn't had a professional hockey team in 15 years. From all the apparel to license plates to medallions, it's getting CRAZY!

Faith is having to do some kind of speech in her class, last week she had to gather information on wolves and make a presentation. This week she's a film critic and is critiquing "Mars Needs Moms". She's using power point, it's totally crazy!

Clayton is really coming around on his french speech. He has moved up a level in his reading! Yeah for him. He can actually read a book with it flowing nicely instead of it just being one word at a time reading. Dustin has started doing math problems with him and he can get the numbers now without having to use his fingers!

Payton LOVES the old cartoons. We have PVR now and I've taped the smurfs for her, they come on channel 10 every morning at 7:30. It's in french so that is even better! I've taught her how to use the PVR pre-recorded buttons and she'll sit all day watching. Although I had to make sure she doesn't click on the shows/movies that I've PVR'd for myself. She doesn't need to be watching Spartacus!! Ducktales is another favorite although that one is in english. I've told Dustin I think we should look into getting the teletoon retro channel.

Nathan continues to be super cute, he's my favorite one to cuddle with. One being because he likes to cuddle and two being he asks for it. Last night it was bed time and he comes out and says "mom we didn't have our cuddle!" I had to shoot him down though because I know it was a stalling tactic to not go to bed when told lol. He's in kindergarten and we "read" a book yesterday. I said a word he said the word, sometimes he even knew the word before I said it. He needs to STOP growing up right now!!!! I miss my babies being little and cuddly.

Not Me Monday

Not Me Monday, today I did not spend the morning lounging around the house. Nope not me, are you kidding? there was way to many things to do.

I did not spend every possible moment yesterday ignoring the fact that the superbowl was on. Nope not me.

I did not sleep most of the afternoon way yesterday. Nope not me!
